Self taught potter from 1970, making a living full time from 1975. Began combining with writing from 1978 in pottery and craft magazines around the world.

Peter was Craft writer NZ Listener between 1987-1995. Editor Craft NZ magazine, 1989-1993. Closed pottery in 1993 and joined the Nelson Mail as a sub-editor 1994.

Peter started making pots again in 2023 after a 30-year gap. Produces wheel-thrown functional work with a focus on form and surface treatment.
