Philippa is passionate about portraying people and their environments. Whether this is in a detailed oil painting, intricate drawings or expressive charcoal drawings. Her biggest enjoyment is portraiture where she attempts to capture the essence of the sitter, trying to reveal the subject’s spirit and personality to describe the uniqueness of the individual. She also has a fascination with large cities as well as New Zealand bush, you can immerse yourself in the imaginings and intrigue of both.

Philippa has a degree in Visual Art from Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology and a degree in Accountancy from Canterbury University. She has been painting commissions and exhibiting work for thirty years. Her paintings are hung in homes throughout New Zealand and around the world. She has been involved in many joint and solo exhibitions around New Zealand (Nelson, Wellington, Auckland, Timaru and Kaikoura), and Eureka in USA.
