Virginia Watson
Christchurch, New Zealand
Virginia paints in two main styles:
Wading Birds on Beaches, Estuaries & Mudflats:
Virginia loves the rhythms of the mudflats and their elegant, leggy wading birds such as the royal spoonbill, pied stilt, and white heron. Her paintings capture these shorebirds along with the estuaries they inhabit.
South Island Landscape Paintings:
A born and bred South Island Kiwi, Virginia has been surrounded by dramatic, peaky landscapes all her life, and now she paints them. Each South Island landscape is inspired by places she loves and has often “researched in depth” while exploring on her mountain bike.
