Robyn Reynolds is a Nelson-based artist who, following a 40-year career as a fashion designer, has fully embraced her practice in visual art. At the age of 60, she discovered a natural affinity for painting and mark-making, opening a new and deeply personal chapter in her creative life.
Largely self-taught, Robyn has developed her skills through a range of evening and weekend workshops over the years. In 2020, she completed the Level 4 Foundation Course with The Learning Connection, further refining her artistic voice.
Her work is intuitive and expressive, grounded in a process of mark-making from which portraits often emerge organically. Working primarily with acrylics, she is drawn to experimentation and frequently incorporates found objects to create texture and unexpected marks.
Robyn’s practice reflects a lifelong engagement with creativity, now distilled into bold, evocative works that explore character, memory, and presence.
